Carol Thompson
Director/Founder

Carol Thompson is a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. She has been an executive pastry chef for more than two decades and has worked at the Waldorf=Astoria hotel, exclusive Madison Avenue restaurants and owned her own bakery. More recently, she has been involved in baking and pastry education programs in Southeast Asia.

 

Dr. Roy J. Nirschel
International Educator

Dr. Roy J. Nirschel has served in leadership positions in the US and international education for the past 35 years. He has served as vice president for US universities, university president and has been a teacher and advocate for education at all levels.
Roy has spent time in 40 countries as traveler and educator including projects in Afghanistan, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America. He is an accomplished fundraiser and strategic planner – recognized for his PhD dissertation in Philanthropy with the Grenzebach Award and his work raising nearly one billion dollars for colleges and universities. He has an MPA and PhD from the University of Miami and a BS degree in teacher education from Southern Connecticut State University. His current projects include English as a second language, vocational education and career preparation in the health care field.

 

Miguel Palacios del Rio
Advisor

Miguel is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and is currently the Executive Pastry Chef for the Universidad Anahuac Mexico Sur at Le Cordon Bleu Mexico. He is extremely talented as both a pastry chef and as an educator and brings valuable insight and a unique perspective to our team.
