Welcome!

Welcome to The Power Of Flour! We’re glad you’re here! If this is your first visit then this is the best place to start and find out what we are all about.

Who We Are

The Power Of Flour is a small, dedicated group of individuals with a knowledge base in baking and pastry, business start-ups, education, marketing, and fundraising.

Our Mission

The mission of The Power Of Flour is to create lasting solutions to joblessness and poverty by building employee owned and run bakeries in the Americas.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple  – women who are empowered lift up our communities and improve their quality of life.

Our 5 step program will help women throughout the Americas raise themselves up to become strong, compassionate business leaders in their communities.

1) We partner with local organizations with a similar vision who will help identify women for the program as well as provide sponsorships.

By partnering with local organizations we ensure that we reach women who will benefit most from our program. We learn the unique needs of the community and can tailor our program to meet the needs of the area most effectively.

2) We identify and use local resources including ingredients, farmers, store owners, artisans, and community leaders.

Sourcing as much locally as we possibly can is good for our neighbors, good for our environment, and cost effective. Our bakeries are part of  the community. When we support each other we all benefit.

3) We provide theoretical and practical training in sourcing ingredients, production, marketing, accounting, nutrition, sanitation, and English (reading, writing, speaking)

Each of the women at the bakeries will learn production as well as the business side of the bakery in order to master all aspects of entrepreneurship.

4) We host a grand opening and launch the bakery.

The big day and just the beginning of an exciting new venture! By launching the bakery we help bring our vision to life – strong, resourceful women becoming an integral part of the fabric of their communities.

5) We provide ongoing support.

By providing ongoing support, we ensure that our bakeries have provided the women the necessary tools to be successful. They have an ongoing resource on which to draw that can assist them as they assume full control of their bakery.
